Internet Association Sends Letter To President Tsai Ing-wen On Ridesharing

BECKERMAN: “The Internet Association calls on the Government of Taiwan to protect consumers and promote economic growth by encouraging competition and innovation in the ridesharing marketplace.”

Washington, DC – Internet Association President and CEO Michael Beckerman released the following statement on the release of a letter to President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan regarding Taiwan’s ridesharing policies:

“The Internet Association calls on the Government of Taiwan to protect consumers and promote economic growth by encouraging competition and innovation in the ridesharing marketplace. When sharing economy companies are allowed to enter markets, local consumers are the real winners: prices go down and quality goes up. Governments around the world should therefore focus on enacting rules that ensure fair and equitable treatment for internet-enabled platforms.”
