The Internet Association Expands Its Team

Names Gina Grandinetti Woodworth as Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Internet Association (The IA), the D.C. based trade organization representing the interests of the leading Internet companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gina Grandinetti Woodworth as Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs.

The IA is comprised of a diverse group of 14 global Internet companies, including Amazon.com, AOL, eBay, Expedia, Facebook, Google, IAC, LinkedIn, Monster Worldwide, Rackspace, salesforce.com, TripAdvisor, Yahoo!, and Zynga.

Woodworth brings to The IA nearly a decade of professional government relations, legislative and lobbying experience in technology policy.  She will contribute to The IA’s public policy development and Congressional advocacy.  Woodworth joins The IA from the Entertainment Software Association where she served as the Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs.  Before ESA, Woodworth served as Staff Director on the U.S. Senate High Tech Task Force.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Italian Studies from Dickinson College.

Since its official launch, The IA also hired Betsy Barrett (former Communications Director to U.S. Representative John D. Dingell (D-MI-15)) as Director of Communications, Nika Nour (former New Media Specialist at the House Committee on Energy and Commerce) as Digital Director, and Alezandra Brady (a recent USC MPA graduate) as Office Manager.  The IA plans to continue growing its team in the next year.

“I am proud of the bipartisan team we are building,” Beckerman said.  “We have a strong group who are all dedicated to protecting Internet freedom.  We are still growing, and I look forward to adding more great people to our team in the next year.”
