Statement Calling On The House To Pass The Music Modernization Act

Washington, DC — Internet Association President & CEO Michael Beckerman issued the following statement ahead of the House of Representatives vote on the Music Modernization Act (MMA):

“The internet industry urges the passage of the Music Modernization Act in the House of Representatives. The laws governing mechanical licensing were written before the first public radio broadcast, and this legislation delivers a much-needed update to the way online streaming platforms acquire them. That’s why the entire music community – artists, record labels, and streaming platforms – support the MMA. It means more choices and better products for consumers .”
