Internet Association Hires Christina Martin In Latest Expansion Of Executive Leadership Team

Washington, DC – Internet Association (IA) announced today that Christina Martin joined the organization as Senior Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs where she will lead IA’s public affairs efforts on behalf of America’s leading internet companies. Martin brings more than two decades of strategic communications, government relations, and grassroots advocacy expertise to IA, having held leadership positions at several industry trade associations. In addition, Martin has extensive political experience having served at the White House, Office of the Governor of Iowa, as well as multiple positions on Capitol Hill, including as spokesperson for Speaker Newt Gingrich and Chief of Staff to a California Member of Congress.

Martin is the newest addition to IA’s executive leadership team and will oversee the communications, creative, and events teams while advocating for the association’s more than 40 members on matters of public policy, including issues of content moderation, data privacy, cloud procurement, copyright, and more.

Most recently, Martin was Executive Vice President at the Corn Refiners Association where she integrated communications, government relations, and policy efforts into innovative, award-winning campaigns. She also served as Executive Vice President at the Renewable Fuels Association, Senior Managing Director for Global Strategic Communications at the Securities Industry And Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), Executive Vice President at Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick, and Senior Vice President for Public Affairs at the Cellular Telecommunications And Internet Association (CTIA). Martin is a veteran of three presidential campaigns, a winning gubernatorial race, and has served as a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas.
