Washington, DC – Internet Association announces the appointment of Jerry Golden as Senior Vice President, Head of Global Government Affairs, and the newest member of the senior leadership team. In this role, effective today, he will lead and elevate IA’s federal government relations efforts. Golden brings to IA an extensive track record, built over two decades, of highly effective government affairs teams, multisector coalitions, advocacy campaigns, and political programs. Most recently, he was a Principal at Vanguard, the world’s second largest asset manager, where he was credited with modernizing its government relations operation, expanding and deepening its influence.

His thoughtful approach to policy and strategy along with a bias toward action will make him an ideal voice for the industry on Capitol Hill and with the new Biden Administration.”

Earlier in his career, Golden was Head of Nationwide Financial Government Relations, serving on their Ohio-based executive leadership team while leading their advocacy efforts in Washington, DC. His trade association experience includes government relations roles at both the American Council of Life Insurers and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Golden holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond and Master’s degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.
