Internet Association Hires New Cloud Policy Director

Washington, DC – Internet Association (IA) announced today that Omid Ghaffari-Tabrizi joined the organization as Director of Cloud Policy where he will lead IA’s advocacy efforts around cloud policy and procurement.

“Omid’s deep expertise in public sector IT modernization efforts is a huge asset to the IA team and our member companies who are global leaders in the drive to develop lower cost, more secure, and scalable cloud services in both the private and public sectors,” said Jon Berroya, IA’s Interim President and CEO. “Omid’s experience collaborating with key stakeholders in the federal government and beyond will be vital in advocating for policies that support and enable internet innovation, including commercial cloud solutions.”

Ghaffari-Tabrizi is the latest addition to IA’s Legal and Policy Team and will help the organization to better advocate for its more than 40 members on cloud computing solutions and IT modernization efforts.

Ghaffari-Tabrizi joins IA from the General Services Administration’s Technology Transformation Services, where he led cross-functional teams at 18F, login.gov, and the IT Modernization Centers of Excellence. He focused on developing and implementing modernization plans to upgrade and remove legacy systems at agencies and departments across the federal government, with an emphasis on ensuring technological updates provide the best possible value to their employees and the people they serve. Ghaffari-Tabrizi is a member of the Florida State Bar.
