Internet Association Hires New Director Of Federal Government Affairs

Washington, DCInternet Association (IA) announced today that Amy Bos joined the organization as Director of Federal Government Affairs. Bos comes to IA from the National Association of Realtors where she focused on digital privacy, copyright, and other tech related issues.

“We are thrilled to have Amy join our team and expand IA’s ability to advocate for the internet industry at such a critical moment in time,” said IA Interim President and CEO Jon Berroya. “Amy’s years of experience on Capitol Hill working on several key tech policy issues, including data privacy, will be incredibly helpful as we work to promote the value of the internet among federal policymakers and other stakeholders.”

As Director of Federal Government Affairs, Bos will work to educate lawmakers on key issues facing internet companies and push for policies that facilitate the continued growth of the free and open internet.

Bos worked on Capitol Hill for a total of 16 years. In 2006, Amy joined Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner’s (WI-05) staff and served as his Legislative Director and Judiciary policy advisor. She was responsible for assisting in the development of policy positions and legislative initiatives and managing the office’s legislative staff. She also assisted in drafting legislation related to immigration reform, criminal justice reform, privacy issues, and copyright and patent reform. In the 116th Congress, she focused extensively on antitrust issues and served as a key advisor in the Committee’s bipartisan investigation into competition in digital markets. She also previously worked for Congressman Pete Hoekstra (R-MI). Bos is a graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
