Washington, DC – Internet Association announces NewsBreak as its newest member. NewsBreak’s model utilizes news network partnerships, artificial intelligence, and a robust content creator program in order to create a streamlined local-news experience for its tens of millions of users.

“We’re excited to welcome NewsBreak as a member at a time when Americans are turning to the internet for information on their communities more than ever before,” said IA President and CEO K. Dane Snowden. “NewsBreak’s dynamic leadership places them at the helm of the shifting media landscape. We look forward to collaborating on a diverse range of policy issues in order to protect and foster the future of digital innovation.”

Since its launch in 2015, NewsBreak has been delighting news readers across the country by connecting them to vital local news, wherever they live. Their contemporary approach to information distribution allows established news publishers, independent journalists, content creators, and local businesses to connect with the communities that matter most to them.

“NewsBreak is the nation’s leading local news app – a platform that millions of locals trust to deliver their neighborhood news. We view our scale as a responsibility, one that we take very seriously,” said Jeff Zheng, CEO of NewsBreak. “And that is why we are thrilled to be joining the Internet Association. The IA shares our strong desire to empower people and create unprecedented benefits to society through the free and open internet.”
