Statement On Today’s Preliminary Injunction In Airbnb Inc. v. City of New York

Washington, DC – Internet Association Director, State Government Affairs Northeast Region John Olsen issued the following statement today in response to a judges preliminary injunction in Airbnb Inc. v. City of New York that blocked the law from being implemented until the case is resolved:

“Today’s ruling is a victory for New Yorkers’ right to privacy. The court recognized that the thousands of city residents who use short term rentals to help make ends meet should not be at risk for illegal surveillance. Short term rentals enrich New York City, bringing new spending and investment.”
