Statement on Formal G20 Endorsement of Global Minimum Tax

Washington, DC – Today, IA President and CEO K. Dane Snowden released the following statement in response to G20 leadership reaching final agreement on a first-of-its-kind global minimum tax deal: 

“Internet Association commends the G20 for recognizing the importance of a modern, fair, and global approach to taxation in the digital age, and we appreciate U.S. commitment to an international consensus on a global taxation framework that provides certainty for internet companies.

“IA encourages all nations to swiftly put an end to discriminatory digital services taxes (DSTs), and we encourage USTR to remain vigilant of any countries who are considering adopting new DSTs or have not committed to ending DSTs.”
