Statement On Gov. Hogan’s Veto Of The Digital Services Tax Bill
Baltimore, MD – IA Director, State Government Affairs for the Northeast Region John Olsen released the following statement on Governor Larry Hogan’s (R-MD) veto of H.B. 732, a bill that would impose a discriminatory sales tax on digital services:
“The internet industry commends Governor Hogan for vetoing this flawed tax proposal. Now more than ever, the Legislature should not be raising the cost of doing business for the thousands of Maryland small businesses and nonprofits that rely on online advertising to achieve their mission, grow their customer base, and succeed in a challenging market.”
