Statement On Making The COVID-19 Vaccine Available To Internet Industry Workers On The Front Lines
Washington, DC – Internet Association Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs and Counsel Mike Lemon issued the following statement on making the COVID-19 vaccine available internet industry workers on the front lines:
“Many people working for internet companies continue to be essential workers who have allowed Americans to receive important products and services while staying safe at home. IA member companies are also providing services to ensure that front line workers are able to do their necessary jobs and that social distancing occurs seamlessly. Additionally, internet companies continue to connect people to vital services like dependent care, necessary transportation, and essential household needs like home heating or plumbing. IA requests that the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices continue to prioritize the safety of essential workers who cannot work from home, like those working as drivers, micro-mobility workers, delivery people, caregivers, those providing essential household services, and warehouse, fulfillment, and grocery store staff, and ensure they receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the earliest appropriate time.”
