Statement on Nominations of Rosenworcel and Sohn for FCC, Davidson for NTIA

Washington, DC – Internet Association President and CEO K. Dane Snowden issued the following statement on the nomination of Jessica Rosenworcel as FCC Chair, Gigi Sohn as FCC Commissioner, and Alan Davidson as NTIA Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information: 

“IA and the internet industry congratulate Jessica Rosenworcel on being nominated as permanent Chair of the Federal Communications Commission. Her commitment to broadband adoption and affordability, especially among students fallen into the “homework gap,” has helped bring internet-based education, health care, and commercial opportunities to users across the United States. Under her leadership, we look forward to continuing to support the FCC’s efforts to deliver the remarkable benefits of the internet to all Americans.”

“In addition, we congratulate Gigi Sohn on her nomination as FCC Commissioner. Gigi has been a tireless advocate for a free and open internet and consumers. She will bring her extraordinary experience and passion to the job. We look forward to working with her on policies that foster innovation and maintain a free and open internet.”

“Finally, we congratulate Alan Davidson for his nomination as Assistant Secretary for Communications at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
