Statement On The Announcement Of A Potential New Trade Deal With Japan
Washington, DC – Internet Association Director, Trade Policy Jordan Haas issued the following statement on the announcement of a potential new trade deal between the U.S. and Japan:
“A new trade deal between Japan and the U.S. represents a strong opportunity to reinforce America’s digital trade leadership. America boasts a $160 billion digital trade surplus and the U.S. should use this potential deal – or any potential deal – to advocate for the policies that have created a thriving digital economy here in America. These principles include the free flow of data, intermediary liability protections, balanced copyright frameworks, and streamlined trade facilitation and customs procedures.”
