Statement On The Commercial Facial Recognition Privacy Act

Washington, DC – Internet Association Associate General Counsel Elizabeth Banker issued the following statement on the introduction of the Commercial Facial Recognition Privacy Act by Sens. Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Brian Schatz (D-HI):

“The internet industry appreciates the bipartisan effort by members of the Commerce Committee to advance the conversation around privacy as it relates to facial recognition technology. This bill contributes to the broader effort to pass comprehensive federal privacy legislation and the industry looks forward to working with both senators and other members of this committee on these issues.”
