Washington, DC – Internet Association President and CEO K. Dane Snowden issued the following statement on the confirmation of Katherine Tai as United States Trade Representative (USTR):
“The internet industry welcomes the confirmation of Katherine Tai as U.S. Trade Representative as her deep understanding of trade policy will help her develop pro-job growth digital trade policies. The internet is responsible for 10.1 percent of U.S. GDP, 6 million American jobs as well as support another 13.1 million indirect jobs in other areas of the economy, and is responsible for a massive $220 billion digital trade surplus. We look forward to working with Ambassador Tai to create sound digital trade policies that help the digital economy create high-paying jobs, help small businesses grow, and ensures the U.S. economy can build back better.”
