Statement On The Department Of Homeland Security’s Guidelines Regarding International Student Visas
Washington, DC – IA Director, Social Impact Policy and Counsel Sean Perryman issued a statement following the Department of Homeland Security’s guidelines limiting international students’ ability to stay in the United States for the fall 2020 semester:
“Today IA joined several tech companies, associations, and other members of the business community in filing an amicus brief to stop the administration’s efforts to remove international students from the United States simply because the universities they attend shift from in-person to virtual learning during the upcoming academic year. IA stands with international students who are furthering their education and training in the U.S., and recognizes that many of them will be future industry leaders. The administration’s latest executive order will harm our country’s economy and competitiveness by shutting these students out.”
