Statement On Governor Cox’s Veto Of Utah SB 228

Washington, DC – Internet Association’s Senior Vice President of State Government Affairs Robert Callahan commented on Governor Cox’s veto of Utah’s Electronic Free Speech Amendments (SB 228):

“With the veto today, Governor Cox preserved First Amendment rights and protected Utah’s status as one of the fastest growing tech hubs in the United States. The internet industry shares Utah policymakers goals of a safe and open internet, but this flawed legislation was a solution worse than the problem. We appreciate the Governor’s thoughtful approach to his final decision.”
