Statement On The Introduction Of The STRONGER Patents Act Of 2019

Washington, DC – IA Senior Vice President, Global Government Affairs Michael Bloom issued the following statement on the introduction of the STRONGER Patents Act of 2019:

“High-quality patents are a crucial driver of America’s economy and the (inter partes review) IPR process helps ensure we have a high-quality patent system. This bill would hamstring the IPR process and drain the resources of American innovators, small and large. It would be a boon to those who abuse low-quality patents to threaten litigation against businesses.

“The internet industry urges Congress not to pass the STRONGER Patents Act, and instead to focus on efforts that strengthen our patent system and help America’s inventors.”
