Washington, DC – IA President & CEO Michael Beckerman released the following statement on the signing of the United-States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) by President Donald J. Trump:

“The internet industry commends President Trump, Ambassador Lighthizer, and the administration for signing this historic bipartisan deal, which benefits every business and consumer that uses the internet. Digital trade represented the largest trade surplus of any industry last year, and USMCA’s first-of-their-kind digital trade provisions set critical rules of the road for our digital economy including strong support for the free flow of information, intermediary liability protections, and copyright safe harbors. We look forward to Canada quickly passing the agreement and working with all parties on implementation.”
