Statement On The STRONGER Patents Act

Washington, DC – Internet Association Senior Vice President, Global Government Affairs Melika Carroll released the following statement on the STRONGER Patents Act of 2018:

“A high-quality patent system is indispensable to the American economy. Despite its name, the STRONGER Patents Act will weaken our current patent system by dismantling the IPR process and embolden litigation abusers. This bill will harm the ability of American companies of all sizes to grow, innovate, and create jobs. The internet industry urges Congress not to pass the STRONGER Patents Act, and instead find solutions that will strengthen our patent system against widespread abuse.”
