A strategic lawsuit against public participation (SLAPP) is a lawsuit that is intended to censor, intimidate, and silence critics by burdening them with the cost of a legal defense until they abandon their criticism or opposition. Recently, federal anti-SLAPP legislation was introduced, entitled the SPEAK FREE Act. We applaud Congressman Blake Farenthold, Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, Congressman Darrell E. Issa, and Congressman Trent Franks for their efforts to create a national standard for online freedom of speech. Read our statement here: http://bit.ly/anti_slapp
