Yesterday, The Internet Association’s General Counsel, Markham Erickson, participated in the United States International Trade Commission’s (USITC) Digital Trade in the U.S. and Global Economies field hearing in Silicon Valley. Erickson promoted the inclusion of Internet-friendly policies in future trade policies and discussions such as intermediary liability, fair use, and the free flow of information across borders. As the Internet grows as a platform for trade, we encourage the USITC to incorporate the Internet industry’s perspective and experiences in its upcoming, second report on digital trade.
